Focus on Academics
My vision for the school district is to reinforce the stability of educating our children and not to follow trends or fads. We need to get back to the basics of education: reading, writing, math, science and history as well as the arts and physical education.
Ideologies such as CRT (critical race theory), SEL (social emotional learning) and CSE (comprehensive sex education) have no place in our schools. They are harmful to our children and take away from a positive learning environment, as well as steal precious time in the classroom for academics.
Children need repetitive routines and certainty from our schools. The world outside changes fast enough. Students and families rely on a steadfast school environment.

According to the Minnesota Department of Education, in 2023, our Chisago Lakes students performed slightly above state averages. However, barely half of students in our district are meeting state standards in math (55.5%) and reading (56.1%); only 41.9% are meeting standards in science. We can do better!
Let's get back to the basics!
I believe parents should be allowed access to every aspect of their child's education. The school, teachers and parents should partner together to ensure the best possible learning environment for every student.
Parents should have the right to opt their child out of any teaching that contradicts with their closely held beliefs.
I'm proud to be endorsed by Minnesota Parents Alliance.
I believe in full financial transparency, so parents and the community know exactly where their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent. The school budget should be run just like parents would run their household: create a budget and then spend, not the other way around.
If you elect me to the school board, I will advocate for fiscal responsibility and financial transparency.
